Bidrage med feedbackWe went based on reviews. The first thing I smelled was really strong propane which is not the most appetizing smell. I went to the restroom and they were out of both toilet paper and hand soap which is not a good sign. The chips and salsa were very good. The green salsa had really good heat like hot level. The red had chunks of tomato, pepper and onion and was a mild/medium heat. I got a taco and cheese enchilada combo. The taco was on a flour tortilla and I prefer double up corn street taco style. The carne asada was bland. The enchiladas were made with cheddar rather than cortija cheese and it makes it taste more like a rolled up quesadilla than a cheese enchilada. The red and green sauces on the enchilada were tangy with a mild heat level. My spouse had the lamb dish which had shredded lamb, a chick pea soup and came with flour tortillas. The lamb was cooked with the meat fat so it was very greasy. The soup tasted bland. He also had menudo which had good flavor but the menudo was under cooked. We have been to interior Mexico and found the food bland for our Americanized Mexican tastes. I think those looking for authentic would like it and there were a lot of Spanish speaking customers so I think it was more that we just prefer less authentic more Americanized Mexican food.
We go to Trapala's in Hubbard Sunday 2 wks ago. Good servers food. We split one fajita meal-yum with leftovers as well.
Recently moved to the area. It was time to start supporting local places. We kind of stumbled onto this place. It's really small from what we could see, so seating was limited. We however got seated when we arrived. Service was slow. We seemed to wait alot at this restaurant. After ordering it took a crazy amount of time to get our food. The food however was very tasty! They were great about not putting anything with cilantro on my plate due to an allergy. That's always high in my likeability list. Lol The chicken in my burrito was grilled perfectly! Nice char marks and really nice and moist meat. Seasoned to perfection. It had rice and beans and cheese and more. Oh I forgot to mention it filled the large plate. Easily something the average person could split. The combo plate was huge as well.So 4 stars due to slow service, but 5 stars on the food quality, quantity, and cost. $40 with sodas and tea for 3 adults. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Next time and yes there will a next time I'll try around 4pm during the week. Or take out.
This establishment has been around for so many so many years... Food has always been good I've never had an issue there and Customer Service has always been great.
Some really great Mexican food. The menu offered a good selections of options that pleased everyone in our group. If you are visiting the Woodbury Outlet Mall this place is well worth your time to find. Great staff.
