The Warren - Wokingham

Good food, good service, we were supervised by a very personable young man named Elliot, who is a great ambassador for the warrens, a real good. Adequate wine list and beer was excellent!

We went on a weekday lunch. The pub was full. I know the pandemic threw hospitality into a total outbreak! They still feel the greatest challenge with recruitment and retention of people. The Warren were always a popular gastro pub and reliable. But this first visit in over two years was so disappointing that I cannot see that we are back. We've seen that in about a dozen gastro pigs in the last 12 months. Problems, just two waiting staff for the whole restaurant! They were under too much pressure. We had bread and oil to share and a head. It took almost exactly one hour and half of sitting to receive our main! As it did, both dishes were overcooked, dry and elements borderline burned! The beer didn't taste right either. You need to get some things right as it was so busy! Would we really be regrettable or do people now accept that things are still in turbulence? For me, I do not pay this price for a disappointing experience. Two days later, we went on the other side the double amount for excellent food and service. Value for money, it's not a brain. Solution, order in take-off for a reliable experience and eat higher end until the hospitality recovers!

Had a wonderful meal in The Warren. Service was excellent and my request to a table was honored the window. Very friendly consideration of beautiful staff for our friend with mobility problems. Very recommended. Our 2nd visit will be back!

One last minute visit and we had a really pleasant time. I had the Lamb kofta starter like. Lunch with Hiumi chips delicious. It wasn't planned this time, but we're planning another trip soon.
