Bidrage med feedbackReally disappointed with my visit today! And I really wanted to be writing a good review as this place was recommended! 3 of us arrived we were quickly seated at a lovely table by the window so far so good. Ordered a Pepsi max, tea, scone and a baked potato with pulled pork. The drinks come then the food two mouthfuls into the baked potato and it was rock solid that hare I couldn’t cut it with my knife. 3 of the waiting staff were stood behind the till chatting no one looked in my direction until I stood up plate in hand to take it over to the toll area when one girl came over to me and i explained the problem. She apologised took it away and shortly afterwards a guy returned with a new meal. You wouldn’t believe that this potato was exactly the same as the first, I couldn’t work out of it was not cooked properly or very over cooked
Big party meeting with kids. Had to preorder food, fine, but told on arrival didn’t have one of the items. Food ok, average Sunday lunch, roast potatoes very nice but everything else disappointing. Staff pleasant apart from one very huffy person. But made to feel we were a complete inconvenience which was not nice at all. Lovely building. Shame about the food and the staff. Wouldn’t go again. Ways to improve would be better quality of food, more choice, easier preordering process for larger groups, area indoors or outdoors specifically aimed at kids. Friendly helpful staff who are not rude.
I had no choice but to complain about my experience at this restaurant. I ordered a sausage sandwich with bacon for five pounds, and found the staff to be quite unfriendly, with the exception of the new girl. The sandwich was very small, with only one sausage cut in half. When I inquired about the bacon, a small piece was added after a trip back to the kitchen. I mentioned that the sandwich seemed lacking with only one small sausage, but was told that was incorrect. After another ten minutes, the sandwich returned with an extra sausage. The pleasant atmosphere is overshadowed by the stinginess of the chefs and the overall underwhelming food experience. The food does not justify the prices. Despite this, I may still return, but probably just for a cup of tea. The quality of the food is comparable to that of a roadside van, but with less of it.
Just off the beaten track a pleasant place to have a bite to eat. The sandwiches are rather generous and very nice. It has a pleasant atmosphere and is very clean. The parking area has a few pot holes so be careful when walking to the entrance. It is a licenced cafe so you can have a beer or wine if you want. The menu is a bit thin on choice but the food is very nice. If you are down Thurstaston way and peckish definitely worth a visit.
Visited with my family and found the food just ‘okay’. I opted for steak and asked for chunky chips but they were just thicker frozen chips as opposed to skinny frozen chips.....!! We felt that management need to give the staff more guidance and training. We were served by a pleasant young lady but she could do with more training as there were a number of issues which management should have spotted. We didn’t want to kick up a fuss or get the young lady into trouble but unfortunately the experience would not make us want to come back again.
