Bidrage med feedbackStopped in to visit the brewery as part of the Maine Beer Trail and enjoyed Trivia Night. The place was packed and had a great atmosphere. Loved the beer and met the owners, who were exceptionally friendly. Highly recommend.
Beers are great. Inside/ outside seating. Food truck making pizzas and bakery items. Live music. Corn hole games Inside.
I can't believe 40 year class reunion. Nice to see all my old friends and class mates. Good memories.
Staff was welcoming, atmosphere is interesting. Beer is mediocre. Great place to stop on the Maine beer trail
Everything you want in a craft brew tasting room at decent prices! Located near the shore of Maranacook Lake this is Winthrop 's hidden gem of a tasting room. Van der Brew used to be a feed store so it 's very large and open inside with cornhole and other table games to pass the time. The large outside deck is sunny and dog friendly (you will always find locals hanging out). Van der Brew offers a large selection of small batch beers all beer are $7 a glass, growlers, flights, soda, coffee, and water are available as well. Free popcorn to go with your beer! Nice and buttery and salty yes please! The day I went was open mic night and they offered an Irish Red called Dublin Rose it was one of the more popular beers I noticed. Smooth, cold, and very drinkable. I stuck with the Red but they offered a kolsche, pilsner, porter, IPA, DIPA, and Maranacook Moe a pale ale. There was a high school reunion happening as well. Like I said, the building is open and great for a group get together. There is an area for live music which I love. The music line up is posted on the bar and they offer a good variety of local talent from across the state if live music is your thing. Dogs are allowed outside. Plenty of parking and free WiFi. Food wise Freedom 's Forage food truck was outside in the lot there is a great outside eating space with long tables, plenty of shade and great views of the lake. Freedom 's Forage offers fresh, sustainable, locally sourced pub grub they had appetizers, kids food, soup and the entree was a southwestern chicken wrap which was what I ordered. Fresh, flavors, lots of crunch and perfectly spiced paired well with the red. I encourage you to come to Van der brew for a great taste of local craft beer, chat with the friendly brew master, get some popcorn and take in the sights of this local treasure. Better yet, get a buddy with a boat and sail on in!
