Bidrage med feedbackFabulous Filipino dishes available. The owner, Rudy Leni are the best cook. Our favorite is her ukoy with shrimps. You can try her all day breakfast Tosilog, Lonsilog Dasilog were the best specially fried with garlic rice, delicious. Then Halo-halo for...dessert, OMG are so good. Every time we go to Caesar, we eat there for lunch or dinner. Very well recommended.
There was a group of us from Ft.Wayne IN who came to Detroit to watch Piston's basketball. Before the game we decided to cross to Canada to try this place for a late lunch. It's hard to find because it's not... right in front of the street. The restaurant is actually on the side of the street. But still, when we came there, the lady greeted us and was very nice. She took our order consisting of Calamari, Beef Steak, Fried Pork, a sizzling pig plate and shrimp vegetable soup. She also advised that it was a little time to cook as they prepare it freshly. It only took 20 minutes to cook everything. All the dishes we ordered were full of great taste. The only reason this has 4 stars is that the shrimp soup consists only of 2 shrimps, provided they are huge, but at least set for the price 4.
We knew this restaurant and tried his kitchen. I could say food was mediocre. Lechon kawali was not crispy and there were only a few pieces of rice and mango salad. The pancite was fine, but her longka sa gata was...sour, runny and inconspicuous, we ended to throw it instead. The Tapsilog was ok, but much too much rice than the Viand. The place is in urgent need of an elevator. The hostess was also the cook, so customers had to wait until they finished before they could submit their order. What a joke, it's not worth coming back.
We had the pleasure to eat in Tropical Hut on the occasion of a special meal/wine dinner. This was our first time in the Tropical hat; we were impressed by the variety of choices and the authenticity of the dishes. The owner is a mother of... the Phillipines and she makes cooking herself. Bottom line, give Philippine Hut a try for a new taste experience!
We've purchased some Filipino food (same dish) since the time they've opened. It was fantastic at first but it didn't take long until their portion size dropped and there was far less shrimp. It's become pretty bland now. Very disappointing since they have increased their...prices and dropped the quality of food.
