Bidrage med feedbackGreat food and nice menu. We had a three course meal for dinner and each course was superb. Staff very friendly. Thank you Moonraker
We had an overnight stay at the Moonraker and have to say we were very pleased. The room was large with a massive and comfortable bed. It was clean and could not fault it. We ate in the restaurant on our evening there and the food was excellent. Service in the evening and also at breakfast was quick with the staff very friendly and helpful. The meals are not really cheap ping food but well worth the little bit extra.
We had booked for afternoon tea but waited quite a long time for food although the drinks arrived fairly quickly. I consoled myself with the fact it was being freshly made. No-one came to check if everything was ok as I would have liked hot water to top up the teapot. Sandwiches delicious, cakes fairly mediocre. Just a few couples in restaurant so no atmosphere. This was a Travelzoo voucher deal so maybe you get what you pay for.
We had to upgrade to a 'superior' room due to having a dog, which faced the courtyard. The room was decent, but nothing extraordinary, as it was on the smaller side and felt a bit dark. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. However, there were issues with the drains, as one couple experienced a foul smell from a blocked drain outside. The gardens were charming but appeared neglected, with an unused kitchen garden and empty ponds. We chose not to have dinner at the restaurant, as the menu seemed overpriced for typical pub food like fish and chips and burgers. Breakfast was disappointing in terms of both food quality and organization. The coffee was weak and flavorless, although they did offer to add an espresso shot. You had to pre-order breakfast with limited options, and there was an extra charge for a 'full English' breakfast. Everyone received the same breakfast, which was a first for me and felt limiting. Overall, the price did not match the overall experience and improvements are needed.
Further to review before going to bed having stayed overnight we discovered a nappy and 2 further items: an empty coffee sachet and apparently Russian food sachet in room in the coffee tea cups... Nappy looks used but not soiled but not going to smell it. I thought it was a 'towel ' when saw on bed, but friend asked me same question during night. We then realised it was left behind Also had loud clumping upstairs from 9.30 to after midnight and from 7 to 9am this morning preventing sleep... Woke up both feeling tired. Will probably hand in to reception when leave and 'thank ' them. Can only assume novice cleaner interrupted while cleaning yesterday and forgot to return to finish job
