The George Inn - Wiltshire

My friends and I went out for lunch and all decided to order the Sunday roast, with three of us choosing the meat option and one choosing the vegetarian option. Unfortunately, the vegetarian roast was essentially the same vegetables as the meat roast, with just a few extra roast potatoes. When I inquired about a nut roast or similar alternative, I was informed that the vegetable selection was all that was available. Despite this, the price for the vegetarian option was the same as the meat options. While the meal was tasty overall, I would caution vegetarians that this may not be the best choice for a vegetarian roast. I mentioned my concerns to the staff, who indicated that others had expressed similar feedback in the past. This restaurant is a good choice for dining, but vegetarians may want to inquire in advance to ensure the vegetarian option meets their expectations.

After years of driving to visit friends in Devon, we have discovered that the George Inn is a convenient halfway point for us. We always stop there for a light, freshly made lunchtime snack before continuing on our journey.

What a gorgeous venue! I am so happy that I chose this place for myself and my partner's 5-year anniversary. The staff were wonderful, the booking process was smooth, the food was delicious, and the ambiance and decor were incredibly warm and romantic. We definitely give it 5 stars! ????

It was expensive for glasses of wine and service last night was poor .

The food was good and service was also. We had the lamb roast lunch and the lamb was the leanest and best we have ever had
