Bidrage med feedbackWe had a great time at the market, where we found plenty of items to browse and purchase food to either enjoy on the spot or take home fresh produce and meat. It was a fantastic way to spend a few hours.
Delicious and hearty homemade burgers await at this restaurant in Waterloo, near St. Jacob's Market. We will definitely be coming back for more on our next visit.
I thoroughly enjoyed the rustic farm setting and the delicious carving plate at this restaurant. The French fries were hand-cut and cooked perfectly, and the presence of local Amish workers added to the charming atmosphere.
We went on a weekday a few stands closed. loved the meat counters very fresh meat. also a pasta stand make them all. buy pasta and steaks. the stop worth. many places only take cash.
This market is no fly by night operation. Having been to St. Lawrence Market in Toronto, I anticipated the same experience. I was mistaken. The quaintness of St. Jacobs market is found in its vendors. They come out before the sun comes up me stay...at the heat builds throughout the day. They're eager not only to sell you their produce but to greet you and make small talk. If you need to stock up on tomatoes, onions, beets, carrots etc. this is the spot to be. There's also food if you're hungry. There's not one but two food buildings offering up delicacies. I had a back bacon cheese and egg sandwich to start and then a Caribbean crepes afterwards and was impressed with both meals. There's freshly squeezed orange juice and home made lemonade and let's not forget the apple fritters! It's a great place to take the kids on a Saturday afternoon and a fun place to have some good food with family and friends.
