Great pizza, even while a bit overpriced, they let you modify their combo ingredients on their specials
They serve room temperature pizza, and provide poor service.
Wow! This was such a poor experience. We ordered two cheese pizzas and drinks. After one full hour, our server came to say that there had been a problem with one of the pies, but both should be ready in about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, she served us the 2 pizzas. One was completely at room temperature. She offered to have it re-heated, which we agreed to. This process also took an extended period of time to the point that we finished the first pizza well before the re-heated problem pie made its reappearance. I won't even mention the machine shop decibel levels of the dining area. Never again, MM.
My wife and I visited Mellow Mushroom for lunch and ordered the Magic Mushroom Soup, the Bruschetta, and the Italian Hoagie with Spud Puppies (tater tots) as the side. The server was Willian who provided a very friendly and attitude-free service even when an item was sent back. The interior and exterior of the restaurant were clean and all staff encountered were friendly and polite. The mushroom soup was quite thick and rich with a nice presentation of cheese and a variety of mushrooms on the top. The texture could have been a little smoother, a minute or two with an immersion blender would have worked wonders for the base. The Bruschetta initially was returned as it arrived burnt with only about ½ of the topping it was supposed to have. I pointed this out and sent it back to be remade properly. William apologized and ask for it to be remade. He did state the person in the kitchen was alone on that station and just rushed the order. While I appreciated the explanation, being rushed is no excuse for poorly plated and prepared food. I do not have a picture of the first Bruschetta that was incorrect. After the issue was corrected, the Bruschetta was perfect. The issue with the meal was the Hoagie. While visually it looked nice the meat was sliced too thickly, the bread was dry and there was a rather strange smell. Not a spoiled smell, but a strange smell nonetheless. The sandwich was probably the worst Italian hoagie I have had in this area. The hush puppies on the side were an additional .99. They were offered after we had handed the menu back and did not realize the additional charge for them. They were slightly greasy and not crisp. I would have been ok with the .99 cents if they had been any better than cafeteria-level reheated tots. I am only giving a rating of 3 as opposed to 2 due to the service by William. I will return to Mellow Mushroom but in the future, I will stick to what they are actually great at, Pizza. I recommend if you visit, stick to the pizza and appetizers.
