Hong Sheng Restaurant - Williams Lake

After reading the reviews, I did not have high expectations. But for take out, I found the food hot, fresh and of good quantity. the service was also fast and friendly. Maybe they stepped it up following negative reviews, but I would recommend and certainly will return.

Hong Sheng, not much to say by the lack of effort in the most distasteful meal served in Williams Lake. The “chicken chow mein” tasted like a pack of watered down Mr.Noodles with absolutely no chicken. The sweet and sour pork contained no edible pork. And the fried rice tasted burned. Will absolutely not return to this place.

5 of us went for the buffet. They keep it well stocked of really bad food. The large noodles were burnt. The fried rice was steamed rice. Ginger beef is strips of beef big chunks of ginger in a brown gravy. No chicken balls. The spring rolls are tasteless. The dessert was ice cream and the only good part. Staff are friendly.

They provide the bare minimum to make it edible and it’s sad to even call this Chinese food … shredded deli chicken on top of a bed of rice lol what a joke !! Probably counted 6 peas and 5 kernels of corn in the whole container of fried rice lol .. brutal !! I never write reviews but I had to warn others as I’ll never come back again!! Even the fortune cookie said better cuisine is in your future !!

The worst food and customer service experience in WL, complete with insulting rude comments from the manager…I ordered for takeout, a combo #6 (almond chicken, chow-mein, sweet and sour pork) and an egg roll for a picnic to share with my partner during our 30 minute lunch break.I went to open the takeout and noticed first of all no napkins, no utensils for our Chinese food takeout picnic. Then, we saw that they had given me the wrong order and we got rice, deep fried prawns and sweet sour pork.I went back to the restaurant on my way back to work and was told they would not refund me for the incorrect meal or inconvenience of not being able to eat a meal that I ordered and paid for between my 12 hour shift and my partners 8 hour shift.I brought the meal back, the manager was very rude and called me a liar regarding the order being incorrect and the fact that we couldn’t eat it as we had ordered take out for a picnic with no utensil’s. I ended up going back to show them and just left the takeout meal at the restaurant, did not get a refund or even an apology for this rather inconvenient and hungry lunch.Sadly, we will not be ordering from this restaurant again (too bad for them as we eat lunch out quite often) and will not hesitate to share this experience with friends, family and community.
