Felipe's Mexican Restaurant - Wichita

At 1st we were seated at a rather small table and had 2 Small children. This resulted in a spelled drink. The staff was very good about coming to clean it up and moved us to a different table while they did the clean up and they gave us a much larger. Table which was very helpful I always ordered something different when I go there just. To try new things have not had a bad meal there yet this last time I had the sancho. Which was really really good?

After trying to find a decent Mexican style restaurant on this side of town we finally came across this place on our lists. After the flavor disaster that was O'Kellys, this place was a breath of fresh air. Table side was a decent bowl of chips and two kinds of salsa, hot and mild. Drinks were extremely tasty and well garnished. I got a pollo plate and the wife got the Mayan enchilada. The tomatillo sauce was bright, acidic, but tastey, chicken inside was flavorful and well packed. The cheese sauce was distinct, blending well with the rice. Chicken was well seasoned, a little tough, but it was the only low point of the meal. Tortillas are bought in, HOWEVER they are bought in from a local bakery and feel like an actual tortilla, not a cheap grocery store tortilla. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. Also they sell to go margaritas in bottles which is neat.

Always has amazing service, food and drinks. Food is quality and priced fairly. It's been my favorite spot for over 12 years.

We were seated right away. As an appetizer, we had my favorite, queso verde. The rich flavor and tender chunks of pork are amazing. The fried flour tacos and tamales are consistent and wonderful. Service was good and prices comparable.

We have not been to Felipe's in a very long time probably 15 years, normally we go to El Agave. So we decided to give this place a try. It was a disappointment, food has no flavor just bland. Service was not great either, there was no checking to see if refill is needed, how the food was, none of that. Just take order, serve food and check, that's it. Will not go back again, we will just stick with El Agave.
