The Forge - Whitstable

The expensive oysters cuz we had visited late and the normal oysters were all sold out. but of course the expensive were super fresh and tasty, and fish n chips were also good. it just sit outside with a view of the sea on a side that is fantastic!

We went here as all the restaurants were fully booked but we realised it was a much better option all along. The oysters were so tasty and fresh, and the cod, skate chips were huge portions! We spent about half as much as the restaurants were charging and it was worth every penny. There wasn't a queue when we were there (about 7pm) and we managed to get a bench in the seating area provided. It was a sunny day so if it's not raining I'd advise going here than to the overpriced restaurants in the area. The beers and service were great too, so i gave 5 stars as I couldn't fault it.

Love this spot. Amazingly fresh oysters, banging fish and chips and the freshest doughnuts! Was busy but speed of service was on point. We also had a little bench with a view and a glass of Prosecco. Can’t wait to visit again

Great scampi and chips! Location is good its on the seafront. Lots of food choices plus drinks, desserts, oysters, Lobster and crab. All fresh. Very very busy on a Saturday in March which is a good sign. Only downside is its quite expensive compared to others nearby. But other than that, I would recommend.

Keep in mind that the restaurant is only open on weekends and holidays, which makes it quite busy. They hire local teens, and while they may not always pay much attention to detail, this can occasionally lead to poorly shucked oysters with bits of shell, or even oysters that were smaller than expected (I’ve attached a photo, but this is a rare occurrence). As someone who loves oysters, I always make sure to stop here for the fresh items they serve right on the rocky beach. Just be prepared to be patient, as getting a table can be a bit of a challenge!
