You have changed the menu to a higher end market, except the food must be cooked on par with this pricing. The couple next to me just wanted burgers, but was rejected. I had the halibut. The part was big, but the fish was boiled and the dough was soggy at one end. I think the menu upgrade was a big mistake for this place. I'm not coming back. In Whitehorse there are already many better menu restaurants.
I visited Steel Street restaurant last night and was disappointed to see that they have raised their prices in an attempt to attract more tourists and impress locals. Unfortunately, they have also completely changed their menu, eliminating options like burgers and other traditional dishes. While the food they serve is still good, the price has been increased by 10%. Our waitress was great though, as she patiently explained the new menu to us. It's clear that the management doesn't understand the preferences of the local community and is solely focused on making money from tourists. It's likely that in the winter, this restaurant and bar will struggle to stay open as locals will no longer be able to order their favorite dishes.
We decided to split the salmon dish and we were so happy that we did because it was amazing. The server was excellent and made sure to check for any allergy concerns related to the food.
I had a hamburger with Caesars salad. The hamburger was well cooked, the ingredients were fresh and the Caesars salad was delicious.
