Bidrage med feedbackWe drove up to Whistler on a Friday, but could not check into our Airbnb that afternoon. We needed a place to work from, and someone at Whistler information booth recommended Gone Village Eatery. With spacious tables, hot coffee, and free wifi, this place had exactly what we were looking for. We spent a solid four hours here, and I ordered both breakfast, served until 11:30, and lunch, served after 11:30. The drip coffee was good, but the breakfast sandwich was great. Their breakfast sandwiches are all day items, and you get your choice of meats and an egg served on a Portuguese bun. I also got soup with the same bun it was perfectly warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside as you tore it apart, and generously buttered. All the service staff here were friendly and welcoming one even offered to warm up my soup for me earlier than 11:30 because I expressed how much I wanted to try it. Whether you're fueling for a ski day or looking for a warm drink in a calm atmosphere, Gone Village Eatery is a must visit in Whistler village.
After a day walking all over Whistler (including Lost Lake), we just wanted to sit in a quiet spot to talk about the day and enjoy a beer. Perfect. This little room behind the bookstore was so comfortable and relaxing. Great idea! It is off the beaten path so it felt so peaceful.
Arrived around 12:35PM and ordered the All Day Breakfast sandwich plus soup and croissant. They forgot our soup and croissant and we had to go back to chase after them no apologies offered. Food was average.
Lovely little cafe tucked behind a book shop but don't think they are connected. Looked like a good menu but as I was after lunchtime, I think many items had sold out. Ordered something to eat and drink. The server clearly either didn't hear me or didn't understand my British accent, as the drink never happened just ignored. Such a shame. Cheese melt/toastie was good though but the service was really slow I thought they'd forgotten about me to be honest! Bit disappointed overall but the food was good once it arrived!
Firstly, thank you to the good people of TripAdvisor. While researching our upcoming holiday in Whistler, I made a note of this place. On our first morning, my brother in law had plans for us for breakfast, but it turned out the place had closed down. Wandering down the street looking for somewhere else, I spotted the sign for Gone Eatery, remembered the name and that it was behind the bookstore. What we didn't realise was it's literally behind the store. You have to go through the bookstore (we tried outside first). The breakfasts were great. So good we went back the next morning. My husband had high praise for the sweet waffles and I loved my breakfast bowl (with bacon the first day and with sausage the second). The only slight negative is that my brother in law and I found the drip coffee rather weak, so the second morning had an Americano with an extra shot, which was about the right strength for me. But that is just personal taste. The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. Overall, highly recommended. And it opens at 7.30 you can get in through the bookstore even when it's closed (the bookshop areas are just gated off).
