You can order the dac biet with banh uot (rice sheets) vs the banh cuon (rice rolls)! Everything was on point! The banh uot was thin yet chewy. Steam cha and fried cha was plentiful per order. The shrimp fritter was crispy. Veg was fresh. The dipping sauce and chili sauce is self-serve on each table.Parking was easy to find in this lot and we were seated and served quickly. The table was clean. All the employees are bilingual and fluent in English and Vietnamese. The nicest thing was that they gave me the dipping sauce without my prompt when I asked for a container for my leftovers. I really appreciated that.
Special vegetarian plate comes with banh cuon filled with mushrooms. You also get the typical sides that go with their variety plates (made vegetarian) which is nice. We went mid-afternoon after a lunch rush and it wasn't too busy. While I was waiting for my takeout order, the employees checked on my order and gave me an update on my wait time.
Came here to eat in person for the first time in a long time and this is the place to go for Banh Cuon if you're in OC, nowhere does it better. Just don't expect 5-star service, just the normal Vietnamese indifference lol. Their fish sauce/nuoc mam is the best and their banh cuon is the perfect thickness. The only reason for taking off a star is that their pork loaf/gio is not the good kind, it's a bit too bland. The shrimp with sweet potato fritter is a must!
Delicious food, I want to go back and try other dishes. Only one thing I wasn't a big fan of, the egg rolls.
