Bidrage med feedbackWesterland actually embodies everything I don't like about Sylt. Common houses in front of the beach, unpleasant, lots of trade. As we enter the island from south by ferry from Cuxhaven, we no longer have to drive for the car ride on and from Westerland. But now I had to go to the branch of my bank, my credit card was noticeable (technically and this is of course a real problem on Sylt, we need to settle some restaurant bills. Luckily I didn't have to take the way to the sunshine, then my wife would not have been ready to accompany me. But the weather was not so good, and we took the plan by bus from Rantum to Westerland, quickly to the bank, and then quickly past the Friedrichstraße-Gewusel to Westerland beach and over the beach to walk back to Rantum. This is good 8 km to the Rantumer main staircase and usually a very nice walk between waves and dunes. Shortly before noon the map problem was solved and we turned to the Westerland beach. The idea was to eat a little lunch before the 2 to 3 hours on foot. But not in the overrun restaurants in Friedrichstraße, we turn into the quieter side streets and not far from the artist café (see the report by Doc here: [here link] This little restaurant was found in Boysenstraße. Amazingly, when the visitor tower was flattened 100 meters next to the Friedrichstraße, the people in the Gosch sit three times stacked, here were free places on the beautiful terrace. It was still a little rainy, but it was no problem by roofing over the outside area. Warm enough for outside, my wife had already announced it. Sit down. Inside and outside, see HP, the small restaurant/Bistro made a beautiful impression. We had already seen the map at the entrance, but it also stands on the HP for inspection. On the daily map many fish and seafood, just right. A good selection of open wines has also been offered. So for the first time water, a Grauburgunder by WG Thomas Hensel (my wife and a Riesling by WG Markus Molitor (ordered for me). And then look at something to eat. The daily menu offered a creative selection of dishes. Since we always eat dinner on the island just small lunch for both of us. My wife ordered raw fish. Thunfischtatar with Avocado, Gurke and Wasabi was their choice. She served as a very neat Tuna Tatar, considering how we both prefer. The components on the plate complemented the Tatar well, I was allowed to taste. A very good choice. For me also fish, but not raw. Mediterranean fish soup with inlay and pernod, soup is always a good lunch, only if there is something hearty. That smells good! Fish food and pernot complement each other excellently, even in the nose. Spoons, taste, tasty, tomatoes, fennel were tasted next to the fond and the anisschnaps. Also with Mediterranean herbs, with fish, navy and cod I wanted to have recognized. Fine soup, I was happy. We had some more time, so another espresso was ready. The young lady had also immediately put into service. She had good to do as the only service in the guest room and on the terrace, so it took something, but that wasn't her fault. She worked with professionalism and kindness. At the end of this little lunch you can eat properly here, even the neighboring tables have served a lot of food. The view of the evening pass also promises refined cuisine in the evening hours. If it had to be that I would eat in Westerland, the Westerland city would whisper a goal I would come into. In the late afternoon, after a wonderful walk through North Seaweathers (wind, sun, rain again at the Rantumer main stairs, we could enjoy a glass of champagne in the beach clam...
We were 6 adults and a child on 13.08.2017. Very good kitchen, attentive service at reasonable Sylter prices. Go on, we'll be happy to come back.
A very nice evening with super delicious food and very warm service. A harmonious overall concept with many loving details ensures a great atmosphere. We like to come back.
