The Three Daggers - Westbury

We have been three times , so far the food has been variable. Sometimes good but usually a mixed bag. This Sunday the nut roast was extremely dry and the roast beef was very tough. The staff are excellent and the place is very dog friendly with a great atmosphere

It was a quiet night in the pub. A warm and friendly welcome when we arrived. We were shown to our dog friendly table it was fine. More so problematic when other customers kept coming over to see our dogs! The team were attentive and friendly. We are stying in one of the cottages the menu at the cottage hadn’t been updated so we’d chosen our favourite dish in advance but sadly we couldn’t have that. We had the salt and pepper squid which was nice other than the spring onions that completely covered it. The chicken supreme was lovely but would have been better accompanied with potato’s and more French beans. Wasn’t overly impressed with the desert options or cheese board given what’s sold in the farmhouse better and more choices of cheese would have been fab! I was offered blue, goats and cheddar! We went through to the bar area for some drinks very friendly service with good options of drinks. The speciality ale had run out which was disappointing. Overall good experience. Just think that this pub could be truly amazing superb food and overall experience. It could be the place that you must visit as there is money in this area to capitalise on. I also think that customers with dogs (like us) should keep their dogs on leads and be vigilant as it’s not relaxing when dogs are just wandering about unsupervised. One woman with a blue French bull dog and a guy with a cross breed were unaware that their dogs were mating in the bar!!! This was today. They just sat on the bar stalls chatting! The team were busy so all customers need to be more attentive and considerate.

Beautiful building and great gift farm shop. Proper log fireplace and nice surroundings. There were 2 servers, one lady that was smiling, happy really helpful and a great hostess, unfortunately there was also a grumpy young man who we tried to avoid as he acted like we were inconveniencing him. The starters were great, I cannot sell the chicken terrine enough, absolutely amazing flavours and really well made. The mains were good, but let down by frozen (Tesco-esque) fish and quite simply the worst “tagliatelle” I have ever tasted. It was mushy, soggy baby food, the only flavour was soggy spinach. I couldn’t even eat it. We didn’t get our desserts so couldn't comment. Without the fantastic female server this would’ve been a poor experience but her attention and energy made up for it. Pay rise for her is in order!

Delicious, lovely atmosphere, great service and all good thank you

The website clearly showed a New Year’s Eve menu but we was given a Sunday roast menu with minimal choice other than a Sunday roast. We asked for triple cooked chips instead of fries when taking our order to later be told they didn’t have any. Ordered a bottle of wine and had to pour it ourselves but was expected to pay the 10% service charge!
