Bidrage med feedbackWe were recommended to try out this restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, we decided to order the roast lamb. The vegetables and potatoes were very tasty, but unfortunately they were served on warm plates, causing the food to not be very hot. The lamb itself was served in a shredded pile, consisting of meat, fat, pieces of skin, and even a piece of string for me. The taste was decent, but it was overly fatty. When I mentioned that I was expecting slices of roast lamb rather than shredded meat, I was informed that they no longer serve it that way. It seems that all roast dishes are now served shredded and in a pile on the plate. This begs the question: when is a roast considered a roast? If it's described as shredded, that's one thing, but this seemed like a stretch.
I phoned to book because I needed to be sure is was wheelchair friendly. I was assured it was, but when we arrived, there was no disabled parking and a small step into the restaurant, so I wasn't happy. I had to drop my sister off and our disabled parents while I hunted for a carspace. They waited in the rain until I returned. Then we struggled to get the wheelchair over the small step (the abled-bodied wouldn't notice it) but weren't offered help from the staff. Small menu. No mulled wine (despite being on the menu). Not happy with it at all. Won't go back.
We arrived to celebrate our belated birthdays and were greeted with a welcome glass of lovely Prosecco. The hotel/restaurant had a cozy and beautiful interior with a charming fireplace. Our room was beautiful and had an extra large double bed, making it incredibly comfortable. The staff, especially the manager, were fantastic, helpful, and friendly. The breakfast choices were great and our dinner of pizzas was delicious - one of the best we've had in ages. We will definitely be returning to this special place.
Really great food and service...huge portions and good value. Well done Freddie and the team there. Highly recommend the club sandwich.
