Aldo's Fish - West Lothian

Although I am not from the area, I had visited this restaurant once before and had a pleasant experience. During my most recent visit, I only ordered chips with cheese and garlic mayo. The server asked if I wanted salt and sauce, and I mistakenly said yes, thinking she had said salt and vinegar, as is common in other chip shops I have visited. When I saw her put the sauce on, I realized my mistake and apologized, but she insisted that I had agreed to it and proceeded to add the cheese and garlic mayo. I felt her attitude was rude and it made me feel embarrassed, so I reluctantly paid for the food and left without eating it due to my allergies. On a positive note, the younger girl who had served me during my previous visit and my friend during this visit was lovely.

Honestly foods always good here but drove all the way home to find they had forgotten an item this is the 3rd time in a row our order has been wrong

We bought 5 x fish suppers for our family to share. All of it was very poor quality and did not taste or look fresh all! Was horrible! This is not what we are used to from another local place Bravo in Broxburn (which is far superior for freshness, quality and taste). This is not a cheap takeaway option for a family and it should be a much better standard, for the price you pay.

I'm up from Leicester visiting my mum and fancied some chips, so after a quick Google search found this place not too far away from where I was staying. I arrived 2 minutes after they opened and asked for a portion of chips which cost me £2.20. I didn't take too much notice of what was going on and the chips, contained in a box and the wrapped in paper, were handed over. It was only when I got back and opened them that I realised that these were all scraps and certainly looked like reheats. Now I should really have taken them back but as I was starving I thought that I'd make the best of a bad job. I really wish that I hadn't been so lazy and had returned to complain as they were disgusting. Truly the worst chips I've ever eaten and more than half of the box was binned. I really would never recommend the chips from here to anyone.
