Bidrage med feedbackI visited this restaurant twice. The first time was on a lovely Monday evening when we sat outside and were served by an older lady and a young lady. The second time was on a Tuesday afternoon, and we were greeted by a moody lady with multi-colored hair and shown to a table inside. The pub was empty and we were not asked if we wanted another drink. The rather larger lady who seemed miserable did not ask us if we wanted another drink or clear our table, even though she walked past us several times. We had to ask for them to clear the table, and she was quick to tell us when our son was sitting at another table. We had to call out for a drink each time, as the staff seemed preoccupied and not very friendly. I was in a good mood before stepping in there, but a smile from the staff wouldn't hurt.
As we hadn't prebooked the welcome was very unfriendly, being told that people with prior bookings would be given priority over orders. Service slow, we had a cheese ciabatti with cheese and onion chutney as little or no choice for veggies.Only positive was that it was half price under government scheme. Don't go if you are feeling low!
We visited this restaurant a couple of times during our week-long stay over New Year's. Each time, we enjoyed well-cooked pub food that didn't take long to arrive. The beers were well maintained and the staff were very friendly and hardworking. On Thursday night, we participated in the quiz which was laid-back and enjoyable.
Fish and chips very well cooked! Desserts at £5.50 very over priced as Etonian mess was one small piece of meringue some frozen black currants and cream!! Maybe it was an off night but disappointed.
The bar service at this restaurant was confusing. Upon arrival, we were told where our table was located but were unsure whether we should order at the bar or wait for table service. We decided to go to the bar for drinks, where we encountered a noticeably overworked staff member. After a wait, we finally received our drinks and were informed that food would be served at our table. The table service was slow, as was the food, which was only average (we visited on a Sunday for lunch). The restaurant is dog-friendly, which was a nice bonus as they offered our dog a bed. However, all the dogs were placed together, leading to an uncomfortable situation when another dog continuously growled at and attacked ours. The decor was outdated and the atmosphere felt strange, possibly due to the unpleasant incident with the other dog. Overall, we did not feel at ease during our visit.
