Wayback Burgers - West Hartford

Save yourself the trouble and just go somewhere else unless you want to be ripped off. The place is dirty and the staff aren't very friendly. We spent $75 for 4 burgers, fries, drinks and one milkshake. That's absurd and to top it all off they're lying on their prices and sizes. They are selling 16.9 fl ounces sodas for $3.99 and charging you for a 20 fl ounce. You can go to Walmart and get a 6 pack of 16.9 fl ounces for $5. When it was brought to their attention they said it's the taxes that made the price go up. I definitely don't recommend at all

The food was good. I had the classic burger, cheese fries and a soda for just under $20. The quality and quantity of the food was spot on. The problem I had was every inch of the restaurant is dirty. The counters had partially made sandwiches on them for to go orders, I watched them sit out on the counter unwrapped for 5-10 minutes. The drink station appeared to have has a drink spilled on it so long ago it had dried up and looked like tea. The food prep areas appear to be stretched apart making the team sling food from all over. Four guys maned the register and food prep. Two had plastic gloves on, two did not. All were preparing food, some times taking money then turning around to drop fries or make a shake. I wanted a shake but the preparation area was just too filthy for me to chance after seeing the left overs already in the metal shake cups. The dining area actually the entire restaurant floors and every table or counter top was dirty. When I left my clothing was so filled with smoke from the grill and fries.

Burgers are really good... the burgers are made right on the grill. You can watch them making your food.

The place is nice and cute for a dine in. The service was okay I wish they were friendlier and welcoming. The burger was good but it took a long time to make and it was small for the price. The milkshake was excellent no complaints except that it took a long time to make as well. It was also not busy. 3/5

Three people behind the counter around 2 o’clock, no sense of urgency, very nonchalant. The cashier was unfamiliar with menu. As the result the person filling the order got it wrong. And was defensive and confrontational. I did not get what I ordered, and paid $7.99 for a hot dog that did not have what was on the menu. The “Wayback”, as the result will not be returning again to be insulted and disrespected for almost $30 for two hot dogs. Outrageous!
