Bidrage med feedbackJust had dinner at red's or should I say I ordered dinner at red's on a table just off to the side of the bar tonight with my brother-in-law and his wife me and my daughter. Got there at 4:30 never received our dinner I'm almost 6:00 our waitress was also the bartender that makes no sense at all I ordered a simple hamburger medium rare and when the dinner finally came I took a bite of a completely raw not rare raw Burger and it wasn't even hamburger believe me folks I've ate plenty of raw hamburger out of the package of salt pepper and onion powder on it and garlic powder I don't mind eating raw hamburger this didn't even look like hamburger I took one bite and had to spit it out. My waitress/bartender wasn't really even available we ordered drinks 20 minutes later she shows up and asked if we wanted anything and never brought the drinks and then had to remind her of our drinks. The girl that was busting the tables came over to us and asked to clear our table after our appetizers and thought we were done we haven't even received dinner our meals I think it is an absolute joke what happened there tonight shame on them I don't even give it a star the beer was actually even warm not even cold pathetic
It's a bit of a drive, but not too bad if you take the thruway. The good news is that Red's is again serving Sunday Brunch (buffet . The menu for brunch is supposed to be on Facebook (so I was told but it doesn't always appear until the Saturday before. That being said, the day we went for the buffet I can say our food was very good. There was a carving station for a beef and a ham. There is an omlet station where you can choose your favorite freshly made by the chef. In addition, you can get hot breakfast dishes and hot lunch items. Being a fish lover, I was delighted to try the baked fish. (Unfortunately I don't remember the fish, but what I do remember was that it perfectly prepared and I went back for seconds! There are soups, breads and desserts. Did I forget something? Oooo! They also had fresh fruits and as stuffed as I was, I saw some fresh blackberries. Oh my goodness! If you see them give them a try large, sweet, juicy berries. Also a second portion. Parking is more than adequate. Staff were most pleasant and quick on refills. Ambiance was nice being that it was a very sunny day and the rays poured through the windows. It was a nice outing and would consider it again soon.
2.5 stars A friend saw this place on Yelp so we thought we could give it a try. Since it was for a Saturday dinner so we made reservation in advance. When we arrived there were about one third of people in the restaurant. The interior looks good and the place looks clean. We had to wait for everything, starting from our waiter coming to greet us and serving us water. Tap water was disgusting, it had very bad and fishy smell, we had to order sodas and other drinks instead. Our waiter was friendly but he didn't seem to know what he was doing. The food was terribly slow! We again had to wait for a while to get our sodas cocktails. It took over an hour to get our appetizers and took forever to eventually got our entrees. Some of us almost feel asleep at the table. I got to say the appetizers were delicious BUT our entrees were so bad. The salmon was wayyyyyyyyyyyy overcooked and veryyyyyyy dry. I never wasted my food and this was the first time I couldn't finish and had to let it go. It was THAT BAD. They did ask how we liked the food but never apologize for slow service. We will probably not go back there again.
Found this restaurant on yelp and decided to stop in on our why down to Long Island for Thanksgiving. They are close to the Thruway exit 21B. 3.5 to 4 stars The place is quite large with lots of seating area and off shoot areas for small groups. The service was very good. The food was good Soup special Turkey asparagus was good but was a bit salty for my taste. Spouse had their MAINE LOBSTER ROLL Their most popular sandwich! Chilled Maine lobster meat tossed with diced fresh cucumber, chopped scallion, and tarragon mayonnaise. Served on a brioche roll. 26.99. It was good but would get something else. For me NASHVILLE HOT FISH SANDWICH Florida grouper double dredged in old bay seasoned flour then deep fried and dipped in our secret hot sauce. Served on a brioche bun with sliced avocado, sweet pickles and parmesan peppercorn dressing. 14.99. This was a good meal. Onion Rings were excellent. but cost extra $1.99. Mushroom Fritters were salty but OK. Also extra $1.99. Sandwiches DO NOT come with anything. They don't tell you this. I would return in the area but order something different.
Only 5 of us for our last night in Coxsackie. The waitress took our drink orders as soon as she finished filling our water glasses. Started out with New England Clam Chowder that was loaded with clams and was very creamy. Then had the short ribs in a delicious sauce with mashed potatoes that hit the spot. Prime rib and lobster tails were among the other entrees. We were too filled to order desert. Finished off with Cappuccino. The place was decorated for Christmas. The food was good. The service was great. Good bye Red 's we 'll be back next year. Sal E New Rochelle.
