Bodega - Wernigerode

Probably the best Spanish food outside Spain! It was a busy night and the service was slow, but impeccable. We had to complain about how many of our dishes (they chose the tapas) contain cheese, as we had made them aware of my somewhat reserved relationship with cheese. They served us two extra dishes on the house and we are very friendly and professional about it. The Sangria was also amazing! I would recommend getting seafood as it looked amazing!

Certainly a busy place on a weekend in summer. It's a large place with several inside rooms and a large courtyard. There is an open kitchen in the main section which made it quite warm and full of rich smells from the kitchen. Thankfully we booked a table outside to enjoy the summer evening. The service was a little disjointed because of the numbers but our waitress was friendly and apologetic for a couple of minor errors. The food was tasty and the wine perfect for the dishes we had.

Das Essen und der Wein waren von guter Qualität. Allerdings konnte ich mich daran nicht so recht erfreuen, weil die offene Küche kräftige Geruchswolken aus der Pfanne ins Restaurant schickte. Ich kann es nicht leiden, wenn jedermann und ich selbst nach einem stark nach Gesottenem riecht. Mit einer gescheiten Entlüftung ist diesem Manko sicherlich beizukommen. An den restlichen drei Tagen meines Aufenthalts in Wernigerode hatte ich in anderen Restaurants dies Problem nicht.
