The Crooked Chimney - Welwyn Hatfield

I had chicken bacon salad. The chicken was so tough I could have soled my shoe with it. I had a real job cutting it. The table was too high which made cutting the chicken even harder my elbows were almost as high as my shoulders. The pesto on the ciabatta was ‘orrible and made the bread soggy. The “bacon” wasn’t bacon and was almost non existent. I gave three stars for the salad veg and dressing, although it could have done with more dressing. I wish I’d had a pizza now. BUT the ambience was very good apart from the child on the table behind which was screaming so loudly we couldn’t hear each other speaking (but kids will be kids eh! No problem with that). Sorry but this is my honest opinion.

Our server was new, so a bit slow and didnt seem to know the menu or how to use the card machine. The other staff were good though and overall it was a nice visit.

The food was fine, but the lack of a real person on the end of the phone was not. If you have any queries, they will not be answered, so any dietary requirements cannot be addressed until you are there.

The qood quality of service was apparent, the service was acceptable but could have been faster. Ambiance was uplifting and pleasant. I will definately return
