Lemon Plaice - Welwyn Hatfield

Very friendly well organized fish and chip shop with sustainably (MSC, Icelandic Responsible Fisheries) sourced fish. The small restaurant (seats 12) offers fresh tea by the pot and is a great alternative to eating in the car or hotel room (speaking from experience)! Super expensive, but that could be because I lived in Kent for 13 years before moving to France, where buying the same thing would have cost me about half the cost of this. Fish is great, we had a plaice and medium cod. Chips had just come out, and we're a tad under cooked. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner

I was not impressed with my experience at this restaurant. It was my first time trying it out and I waited 25 minutes for my food in a cramped space with too many people. Instead of charging £2 per person for seating, they should focus on providing a better waiting experience for their customers. The prices were high compared to other chip shops in nearby towns, and the portion sizes were disappointing. The medium cod was smaller than my wife's size 5 foot, and the batter lacked flavor. Overall, I felt I could have spent my money on a better meal for my family. It's difficult to mess up fish and chips, but this place certainly made a good attempt at it.
