Bidrage med feedbackMy wife and I had a very fine tour of Barkerville. On the way back, we spotted the sign for Big H's Fish and Chips. So totally on a whim, we turned in, parked and ordered. We are very glad we did that. We both really like Fish and Chips, we often try them in new places, so I think we are pretty good judges of the quality. The batter fried halibut was very tasty; the fish was firm and well seasoned, the batter light and crisp. Often restaurants make nice fish, but the chips are only so-so. A good place takes pride in nice fries. Big H had excellent French fries. They were crisp on the outside, tender inside and salted properly.
We were on a big road trip to Barkerville. We were two Moms and four starving children. What a treat to be able to hit Big H's Fish and Chips for dinner before heading to Barkerville very late (the two restaurants in town there were long closed.) We had, of course, fish and chips and they were awesome! A couple of the kids went with chicken fingers and they received a thumbs up for sure. It was so nice to be seated under cover beside a heat lamp because it was cool, even though it was August. The owners/staff were super friendly and even though they were close to closing, they made us feel very welcome and unhurried. Highly recommend Big H's Fish and Chips!
Very good fish and chips best I have had. Their fish and chips was right on the hubs motel parking lot
Stopped here for dinner. Informal atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, simple but tasty food. Carry on as you are!
We stayed at the Hubs motel in Wells and were told by a relative in Quesnel that we had to try Harolds fish and chips. We had our dinner there the first night and it was excellent! Three of us had the halibut and chips and the other person had the prawns and chips. It was very very good fish and chips and I w/ill also tell people they have to try Harolds as well
