Bidrage med feedbackWe stopped on the way to Huntingdon, for a light lunch. Lovely pub/restaurant. We were just after usual finishing time for lunch but one of the staff said she should be able to get the chef to feed us! We chose turkey stuffing, and halloumi onion chutney, both open on sourbread. Plus chips! They came beautifully presented with pea shoots and leaves, and the turkey had delicious dripping gravy to pour over. Both were superb and although open were easy to eat as the bread was crispy and soft perfect! But, in addition, the chips were delicious! Home made and probably 2 or 3 times fried. Without doubt as good as the best pub sandwiches we 've ever had! The service was great, always with a smile. If the main menu is as good, it would be well worth trying! Highly recommended.
Terrible experience. Sat down for dinner at table 106, that’s where the problem started, the table was sticky and horrid (needs sanding down and varnishing). Ordered drinks (which never arrived, whilst we were half way through the dinner we cancelled them as by now we wanted to leave asap). We went for the shared roast, all meets were cheap and nasty, side vegetables were over cooked, cauliflower cheese had no flavour nor where the roast potatoes seasoned. I did get a glance at some puddings and they looked decorative but we cannot comment as we did not fancy stopping. Food was not inedible just tasteless and uninspiring.
I’ve eaten here many times, usually with one other person but, on Friday, there were 8 of us and we ordered two of every dish on the tapas menu. We had to wait quite a long time but we totally understood why, and really appreciated the chefs doing this. Thank you, it made a wonderful sharing meal for my niece’s birthday.
One of us had the pate and it was full of water in the bottom of the jar it was served in, never seen that before and the pate was very bland.and I had the stuffed mushroom risotto.it was just a cheese sauce pored over the mushroom and I felt what ever cheese was used was far too strong over powered the mushroom.for mains one of us had the rib eye steak.it was cooked exactly how I had asked for it but the steak was so tough.the other main was the steak and ale pie which was extremely stodgy.the chips that were served were absolutely awful.they had been cooked with there skins on and they were nearly black and tasted like the fat wasn't clean.they say you eat with your eyes...........need I say any more
I live in the village but this was my first visit to the pub. Superb food, served efficiently by very attentive staff. I cannot believe I haven’t eaten there before. My friend and I both had pie and chips, but with the vegetables etc the presentation was fantastic, with both of us saying it was the best we had ever had. Well done to the staff.
