Ammons Drive-in - Waynesville

This is a great local business. It's a really good diner food location. I had hamburgers and fries, which is my bell weather for Diners. It was good. Maybe a little small. A bigger burger would have been better. The prices were great. Great milkshakes. Fast friendly service. The prices were very good, especially considering that it was in a resort location.

Every time I come here, the food is fast, hot and tasty. I never have a bit cold or dry. I wish they had another option for Fritten, but I can't complain about the service or the food. A must stop on site when you travel through, a good location for a quick lunch when you work remotely.

Just talk... just drag in a parking lot, these guys go to your order in a flash. This place has the best house cooked food. I enjoy daily specialties, catfish, chicken roasted steak quality, the coconut cake is the sky. Great place to get a good meal.

Ammons is unique because they are curb hops coming to your car and take your order. I always get a cheeseburger and French fries, even though their burgers are not so great; I think they're sucking them in water, but the pommes are good. They also have good hot fudge cakes and sunflowers. I enjoy going here because it has been there for years (used to be Boyds when it was outside Russ Avenue).

Chili not the same as it used to be.. we used to get chili rolls every week. Last couple of years the chili is just very salty, doesn't taste homemade like before.. Disappointed in that, but overall food is decent. BBQ is good. Very clean restaurant, safe and friendly staff. FYI Cash only.
