Bidrage med feedbackI've been going to this place for decades...way before the Bladers bought it. Bladers have owned it now for at least 20 years and food and service have had their ups and downs. My wife and I went there recently for dinner, mostly because we were too tired to drive any greater distance and it's only about 4 miles from our house. I had a 16 oz. prime sirloin smothered in peppers and onions. It was delicious and perfectly cooked to medium rare as I like it. The meal started with a simple but fresh and crisp iceberg lettuce salad which was wholly enjoyable. I had a choice of potato and I picked french fries, they were also good. My wife had an open face prime sirloin sandwich, and for $10 it was a steal. I can't really see how it was any different than my steak, to be frank. You can't go wrong at that price. She also had some wedge potatoes smothered in a cheesy sauce, they were outstanding. Service was good, food was great, we'll be giving this another try in the near future.
Drinks are good. Menu includes burgers, pizza, chicken, salad bar, Friday night fish fry, Saturday night prime rib, Sunday morning breakfast. Hall for entertainment, weddings, meetings. Not cool: Taco Tuesdays are on Mondays; annual midget wrestling. UPDATE: Taco Tuesdays rescheduled for Tuesdays. Monday Pizza Night. Wednesday Broasted Chicken. Thursday Hamburger Night. Friday Fish Fry. Saturday Prime Rib. Sunday Broasted Chicken.
Ah the Dakota. A bar food staple each time we travel up north. With their pizzas and beer specials, is there really anything else you could possibly want in a bar? I was recently introduced to Monday night taco nights. Wow. The tacos were so much better than I was expecting. Giant tacos with a flakey homemade tasting shells and abundant fixings.. 10/10. The rice was lackluster and I would almost prefer Knorr instant rice.. But I digress. If you're trying to decide between the 2 bars on the Dakota circle..choose the Dakota.. You might get a stare down from the people sitting at the bar but strut right in and order your cheap tacos!!
Went with wife, son and in-laws for the Mother's Day Brunch. Had a 11:30 reservation and walked right in to our table. It was outstanding! Staff was friendly and the food was excellent. Chicken was out of this world! We will be back again.
Hands down the best salad bar in Dakota!
