El Mezcal - Wausau

I had the Nachos supreme this time. So very good! The people working there are very polite and the atmosphere here is relaxing and pleasant! El Mezcal has a very large parking lot and a varied menu , even serving fish fries. I have eaten here several times and have always had a great meal and good experience!

We were passing through Wausau on our way to Door County and needed to stop for lunch. From the outside, El Mezcal looks like any other Mexican-for-gringos...

Casual mexican sit down (or carry out) with a great selection and quick service. El Mezcal is always busy when I drive by so we finally decided to try after a long day out... No wait despite lots of people there and a fairly full lot. We were seated and served fresh warm chips and salsa right away. I can't speak to the drinks but they do have 2 for 1 margarita specials some days, in addition to very well priced tacos that are fully loaded and served piping hot. My tween was full and happy after two tacos and a bowl of rice and beans. I enjoyed the Chicken Tropical tacos which were perfectly cooked and delicious, would order again. Server was excellent with the kids and very responsive, overall the atmosphere is a little loud for deep conversation, but typical for a busy restaurant. A good spot for families or a quick filling meal for anyone.
