Middletons Steakhouse and Grill - Watford

Second visit to Middletons for a late lunch on New Years Eve. The set menu is a great deal, 3 courses for around a tenner. I believe this has just changed though in Jan 2020 and now costs more. Food very tasty and decent portions. Prosecco also very nice :

I have visited this restaurant multiple times and always enjoy the delicious food and cocktails. That is why I was excited to bring my team here for a Christmas lunch.

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening and it seemed like the chefs and servers were already checked out for the week and were not very enthusiastic. There was only one other table dining and the service was slow and disinterested. The starter I ordered was overly cooked and tough, as if it had been left under a heat lamp for too long.

Food great and steak is always best around but service awful this time. Put table of 2 next to a huge party and didn’t even offer to move us when it was clear it was not good for us. Extra £12 on service for table of 2 also not ok. Been plenty of times before and it’s been ok but just not happy this time, a real shame as we were there for an anniversary meal

The food was excellent as usual, and the wine selection was nice. The service was friendly, but the restaurant was quite busy due to holiday parties, making it difficult to have a quiet conversation. However, the lively atmosphere added to the experience. The only downside was that the coffee machine was not working.
