Nice calm bar and the bar tenders are nice and people here really like a conversation
First of all, you have very limited hours, opening only at 4:00 p.m. and not every day. Second, the food preparation is very much like several other restaurants in the same town. The salads have different names but the photos of each are almost identical and I couldn't tell which salad came from which place. They have many of the same menu items, sometimes with 80% of the description the same. Then I was told that the owner of this establishment owned the rest of the breweries and better restaurants in town. Then I was told he'd just asked for over 400 people who recently came across the border...because they would work cheaper. There appears to be a lack of people in town who really don't want to work for under $10 an hour.
The food is excellent with large portions. One shrimp Alfredo. One pasta dish that starts with a C and a steak. All were wonderful! We took home left overs along with a generously sliced piece of cheesecake with raspberry sauce. Service was prompt and meal was served in a timely manner. All different age groups were eating here. I found the prices to be reasonable for this type of establishment.
This was my first visit, and although the restaurant was quite busy, the service was excellent. We ordered the salmon, chicken fried steak, and Alfredo with Cajun chicken, and everything was delicious. When we inquired about the spiciness of the Alfredo, the waitress recommended the Cajun seasoning, which added a nice kick to the dish. The chicken fried steak had a beautifully cooked exterior and was topped with homemade creamy gravy, which was delightful. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was tender yet firm. I look forward to returning for the Alfredo to see if the heat remains, as the waitress assured us it would.
