Bidrage med feedbackDuring these times of COVID, dining out has taken on a whole new meaning. However, I am grateful for the opportunity to take a break from being cooped up at home all day and enjoy some delicious food. Marbles provided just that. We opted for fried dishes, knowing that they do not travel well for takeout. We've had disappointing experiences with takeout in the past, as some foods just don't taste the same when not fresh from the kitchen. We started with crispy onion rings, followed by the fried chicken dinner and fish and chips. We were not disappointed. The chicken was moist with a perfectly crunchy batter that wasn't too heavy. I paired it with Nashville sauce for a good kick of heat. The pickled vegetables on the side provided a nice contrast to the fried dishes. The cod in the fish and chips was tender and not rubbery, making it a delightful choice as well. The service was friendly and efficient, with the staff even taking extra measures to ensure cleanliness by thoroughly wiping down the table and chairs after the previous group left. Running a restaurant is already challenging under normal circumstances, so I can only imagine the struggles during COVID. As I continue to support local businesses by dining out, I hope that Marbles can navigate their way through these tough times.
This restaurant is a hidden gem with a charming atmosphere, excellent customer service, and delicious food. I appreciate the emphasis on treating customers well, as it adds to the overall dining experience. I have never had a bad experience with the service here, which is a major plus for me. During my last visit, I ordered takeout due to the current Covid situation. I tried the fish and chips, whole earth salad, Vegan rice bowl, fries, and pumpkin cheesecake. The fish and chips were the best in the area, while the salad was hearty and delicious. The fries were amazing, but the rice bowl lacked excitement. Despite this, the overall experience was great. The pumpkin cheesecake was a perfect ending to the meal. I enjoy supporting local businesses like this and will definitely be returning in the future, hopefully for a sit-down meal once the pandemic is over. The restaurant has a cozy vibe and is perfect for a night out.
The staff at this restaurant is extremely friendly and helpful! The cozy atmosphere greets you as soon as you walk in. This place can get busy on certain nights, so making a reservation is recommended. However, we arrived early for dinner and there were plenty of open tables. We started with a vegan salad, followed by a delicious lamb sandwich, curry bowl, and non-dairy ice cream for dessert. The salad, sandwich, and fries were all fantastic! The vegan curry and ice cream were decent, but not extraordinary. Our waiter was exceptionally kind and attentive. We would definitely return on another cool evening. This hidden gem is located in Uptown Waterloo.
Great variety of gluten free options (including gf safe fryer). Fish and chips was very nice. Burger was maybe a little overworked in terms of variety of toppings. Nicely decorated space. Service was a bit slow when we were there, but they were very apologetic about it. It's a smaller restaurant, so it's definitely a good idea to make a reservation.
My girlfriend and I went for the three course vegan meal on a Tuesday and really enjoyed the food. We're not vegans, but enjoy vegan foods. The atmosphere is quite comfortable and romantic. Beer and wine selection is good and they serve kombucha which was very tasty. Would recommend.
