Highland Garden - Waterbury

Prices are low and food quality has increased over time. I 've ordered multiple times, Shrimp Fried Rice, Pepper Steak and Onions, General TSO Chicken, Egg Rolls, Dumplings, etc... and so far they have been pretty good. I personally enjoyed their General TSO Chicken, which compared to other Chinese Restaurants in the area I have found it to be the best (Personal tip, when requesting General TSO Chicken, ask them to make it 'Crispy ', it makes a huge difference. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken and the broccoli beef, which came with pork fried rice. The rice was decent, but the chicken and beef were great good mix of meat and veggies, and they got our order correct. Also got egg roll which was amazing, should've gotten 3! And a steal at $1.50 all the dishes were, coming in under $10 for quality food and HUGE portions! I'm 6'4' with a huge appetite, it's 2 meals. Topped it off with the crab rangoon, which didn't disappoint. If you want authentic Chinese takeout in Central CT, can't beat this place you can hear the Mandarin in the kitchen! Wish they had a dine in option, maybe as they grow it could be an addition, someday! Friendly, helpful staff, too.

Best take out Chinese food I have ever had! Portions are large. Dumplings were delicious and fresh, I ate I believe 3 before pic! Sesame chicken best ever had, not to sweet, nice crunch. I am not a huge fan of Chinese food, maybe eat it 2- 3 x per yr. However this is the only place I will go. Customer service was great. Clean in the inside! Was a little wait, as they stay super busy. Call ahead. They do offer delivery.

Their great customer service stood out to me first because they’re not rushing you to complete your order, they’re very polite, and kind. I always tip them because of that alone. Not mention the food is amazing as well!! I just wish they delivered, other than that I found my new fav Chinese restaurant!!!

My favorite place for Chinese food in Waterbury! Quick service and friendly staff. General Tso's Chicken and Beef Teriyaki are delicious!
