The Wandering Cafe - Wasilla

We were impressed by The Wandering Cafe! First of all, the salad was HUGE. I had the Pioneer sandwich and my wife had the Sightseer salad. We were both very full and satisfied by the end. The food was delicious and fresh tasting. They had a kid grilled cheese that came with chips and some fruit for the kiddo. It’s well decorated and has a cozy vibe. You can buy local art or goods as well. Friendly service as well. Highly recommend overall.

Update I've been back several times and it's always amazing. I love the fact they regularly have something new to try! Their winter salad was phenomenal! Wow. I just have to start with wow. I think this was the best lunch I've ever had anywhere in the valley. I got the fall salad and the tomato basil soup. The salad was absolutely loaded and the dressing was perfectly balanced. The tomato soup was thick, rich, warm, and exactly what I need to go back out into the chilly fall air. My husband got the Pioneer sandwich and immediately demanded I try it. If I could gasp with a full mouth, I would have. Absolutely perfectly balanced and sturdy while being soft to the bite and easy to chew. The amount of toppings were in the perfect ratio. I dare to say it was about as close to a perfect sandwich as it comes. The food is so good it's worth driving from town for. I found a new favorite lunch spot.

The tomato soup here is my new favorite! I also tried the dilly dally that everyone’s been talking about and it was delicious. If you love pickles too it’s a must try. For our second visit here we decided to go for breakfast instead of lunch and got to try the breakfast burritos which were so filling and just as delicious as their lunch options.

My go to for amazing and FRESH salads, and sandwiches. My kids love it too, which makes for an easy win for all when we are out to eat! Not only is the food incredible, the owners are top notch community members/humans. Makes it extra easy to support local.

The Dilly Dally was one of the best sandwiches i've ever had! Amazing experience for someone who loves pickles. Soup of the day was chili which was stolen from my girl because it was so delicious. Great service as well, we will definitely be back :
