I enjoyed my lovely birthday afternoon tea! As I have a dairy allergy, I?m so grateful that my restrictions were accommodated. I searched high and low for vegan or dairy free afternoon tea options in the DMV and this is the only option that I could find. It turned out to be very pleasant and a memorable birthday! Thanks to the staff!

Came here for afternoon tea to close out a weekend trip with my friend and despite there no longer being online reservation available, I was able to call and make a reservation about two weeks in advance. It 's hosted in an alley inside the Intercontinental Hotel, which itself is beautifully ornate. The vibe is elegant and lively, with a harpist playing the whole time. Phenomenal tea! The pastries were extraordinary, and the service is unparalleled elsewhere. It's famous for a reason, and it never fails to impress. Unfortunately they extremely difficult to get ahold of. There have been a few different times when I call several phone numbers and they do not answer or return voicemails in a timely fashion. Perfect backdrop for High Tea. However sandwiches were underwhelming bread not as fresh as I would have expected), desserts tasty, but the best were the scones Peach basil and vanilla). Tea was very good. Overall enjoyed it but may try other places the next time. Expected a bit more in general for the price tag. Service very good.

My mom and I went here while visiting DC and it's one of the best tea experiences we've had! The sandwiches were all super delicious and strayed away from the average chicken and egg salad which was a refreshing change. The scones were moist and perfectly flavored, and came with plenty of cream, lemon curd, and jams. The deserts were perfect little bites and incorporated a lot of seasonal ingredients.
