Bidrage med feedbackI have eaten here for most of my life the dining room is wonderful with paintings and beer steins, they used to have a piano player. The waitresses wear dirndls, the food is German and was very good the last time I was there, it is good traditional German fare with some new things added, not slimming but wonderful.
My family and I visited Old Europe on a Friday evening, around 5pm. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and although it was small, we quickly felt at home. It has been in business since 1948, with different owners over the years, who have all worked there. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and friendly, with decorations like model ships, old portraits, coats of arms, hunting trophies, and a large hunter's cuckoo clock. Our server took our orders for beer and potato pancakes. We enjoyed different types of bread, butter, and mustard before our delicious meals arrived. My wife had the Ungarisches gulasch mit spätzle, while I ordered the old Europe's sausage combo. The owner even brought out our food, checked on us, and answered questions before returning to the kitchen. The food was amazing and reminded me of eating at my German grandmother's house. We also tried some after-dinner digestifs, including a Wild Cherry Schnapps and a Black Forest cherry brandy. The owner surprised us with a taste of Venison stew, which was fantastic. We shared a black forest cake for dessert. Overall, this is now our favorite German restaurant. It felt like we were being served a great family dinner in someone's home. I highly recommend visiting Old Europe and taking your time to enjoy the atmosphere, food, drinks, and company. We loved it and will definitely be back.
The food and service at this restaurant were absolutely fantastic. Every dish was cooked perfectly and the service was so attentive that we didn't even need to ask for anything. The dessert was also amazing! I will definitely be returning to this place in the future.
