Excellent food and excellent service. The tasting menu was great.
We enjoyed the food more than the atmosphere. The chicken was excellent — made us forget our disappointment over there being no more duck! The small plates got a little annoying; chicken leg hung off the edge. Maybe go to larger plates for the mains?
The meal was outstanding. The pressed duck is a must, but everything was first rate. The Amish chicken was rich and flavorful; the fluke was also outstanding. The sides accompanying the entrees were perfectly executed lots of citrus and lightness. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Ask fir the round table up front wish we had been able to sit there.
The duck is unbelievably good. Don’t be put off by the price it easily will feed four people, as in addition to the roast duck you get a delicious duck tart, cured apples and a small salad, along with plentiful housemade rolls. This is not Peking duck with glazed skin, rather it is roasted and served rare with a delicious sauce prepared tableside. If you are squeamish about the thought of rare duck, think rare/medium steak, very similar in appearance and texture. But they only prepare four ducks a night, so arrive early. I look forward to returning to try the roast chicken. Service is smooth, attentive, efficient. Atmosphere very relaxed you will be comfortable in your dress jeans. Noise level is high maybe some acoustics treatment on the ceiling will help.
