Bidrage med feedbackWe're quite glad to find another authentic Taiwanese eatery in the DC area. Iron Pan Steak with black pepper gravy brought back childhood memories for me and my wife. Our kids enjoyed bento boxes just as well. Popcorn Chicken is as good as any others in the area. The Taiwanese Sausage Hamburger 大腸包小腸 was a little disappointing, though. It came sliced in pieces and took away the fun of eating two types of sausages together like a hotdog on buns.
I had my first honey toast about a year and ever since then I've been looking for places that make them. So far I only know of two in the area. Magnolia and Momo's Cafe. Momo's Cafe opened up about six months ago in Georgetown. It's located on the first floor of a residential office complex. Momo’s Cafe focuses on Taiwanese cuisine. Like I said before I'm a big fan of honey toast, so once I heard they had it I had to come. Additionally, I also tried the fries dumplings and popcorn shrimp as well as and a few of their drinks. Everything was extremely good. I definitely plan on coming back soon to some other items from the menu. My food was brought out to me quickly and correctly and the restaurant itself is extremely clean. I had the chance to meet the owner and he explained to me that these were the dishes he grew up on in Taiwan. He was always very friendly and hospitable. If you're looking for parking you there are a few options across the street. You can either park in the Safeway lot for two hours, but just make sure you purchase something from the supermarket. Your other option is the parking lot right behind the Safeway lot. It's metered and you can choose how long you want to stay for. I payed with Spot hero and it was $4.00 for three hours, which was more than enough time.
I love the fried pork chop sandwiches very much, it reminds me the breakfast cafeteria in Taiwan. All the ingredients are perfect. The fry pan noodles smells so good. The beef beef popcorn is juicy and delicate. Don't forget the fried ice cream! it's evil but delicious. You can have it for the perfect ending!
Ordered the iron pan ribeye steak and the Momo's spicy soup. Both entrees tasted very delicious and very authentic Taiwanese. I love the black pepper sauce for the tender steak Remember to put some sauce on the noodle too! The strawberry cheese foam and black tea are great compliment to the food and the sweetness are perfect! Will definitely be coming back often!
The food is soooo Taiwan, pretty local and tasty. The restaurant is delicate and you can see the best of every single detail in this space. Wonderful place. Strongly recommend, even just 10 minute break!
