Bidrage med feedbackDISAPPOINTING!! This is a second visit, I got almost the exact same dishes, but the food wasn't as good. Here's the skinny: We sat in the bar on visit one, in the main restaurant tonight. The air conditioning was blowing: jacket on, then it was off: jacket off. Rinse. Repeat. Our waitress on visit one got everything right including recommendations, extras we requested such as extra lemon, timing. Tonight's waitress and kitchen did not. The worst of it was the timing. Appetizer, salad and soup arrived all at once along with the bread we requested to have with our drinks. Entree came early after we requested it be delayed. Food: also not as good. The salad was actually too large, twice as large as last time. The Maryland Crab Soup was delicious, even better than last time, but was missing the wonderful toasted bread that came with it last time. We'll try it again sometimebut...Fingers crossed.
Oh. My. Big. Goodness! I 'm so blown away by my 2nd visit and it makes me sick to my stomach! The night before Valentine 's day I sat at the bar to order. Different guy tending bar. Asked for a long Island and shrimp cocktail. Another server walking by said they were out to which barboy said, really? WTH? The night before V-day and no schrimps??? Messed up my whole plan so I had to regroup. Decided on the crab soup and cobb salad. Barguy brought my drink and it looked 'off ' so I stired and sipped. It was good but not a long island. When bardude returned i told him this. His reply was, don 't you like it? I told him again it tastes fine but it 's not a long island. He said he put orange juice in it and he just walked away. Ugh! My soup comes out and it tastes different. After examining it I noticed the crab looked like beef, or pork. One of the cooks came by and I asked why the crab was brown. He said they buy it with the whole crab ground up shell and all so it makes the meat a different color because lump meat is too expensive at $30 a pound. WHAT, ewe. My brain was trying to process how this evening could be such a different experience from the one I had just the week before. Pretty safe to say I won 't be going back.
Redwood gets the stars for the best view in town. The salads are really good (especially the Redwood Salad). The homemade pasta entrees are the best choice here (the lasagne is really good) and they are always willing to accommodate custom requests with the pasta menu. The steaks come from Chicago Stock Yard not the best choice here. Service varies usually pretty good with small parties but they have a difficult time serving and accommodating groups larger than 6. Overall if you 're looking for a great view with patio dining, good Salads and a cold glass of wine, this is your place....
Nice South American flair. Great Chilean wine and the shrimp skewers in the picture were outstanding.
Amazing food and they were so accommodating for our birthday party celebration. Everyone loved their food, the atmosphere and the view. Thank you Redwood. You made our night spectacular!
