Caplingers Fresh Catch - Warren Park

Catfish Friday for late lunch! One of my favorite carry-out or dine-in spots. Today I had fried catfish sandwich combo. It is also available grilled. I ordered the combo with hush puppies (6) as my side and a fountain drink. I dined inside. There are 5 tables of four in the dining area. There are also tables in the fish market section. You still order at the counter and they 'll bring it to you. It gets busy and can have long waits because of their delivery business. So order take-out ahead if possible. Everything is cooked to order. I consider myself a 'hushpuppy connoisseur ' and I consider Caplinger 's in my Indianapolis top 2. In addition to cooked food; Caplinger 's has a great selection of fresh seafood to buy. There are also dips, gumbo, clam chowder and seafood salads for sale--to cook at home. I support family-owned restaurants!

I'm pregnant and have been craving crab legs for weeks. My husband did his research and found out Caplingers had king crab legs that they'd cook fresh for you. We went tonight and I was absolutely blown away. If we didn't have a budget, I'd be back every day of the week. The butter served alongside was delightful, and I was given plenty of lemons to pair with the delightful leg meat. Will absolutely be back for special occasions in the future! To add, french fries were really delicious, crab cake was amazing, would not get the green beans again. Husband thought perch was good, but he'll probably go for a different fish next time like cod.

I really can't believe I just made my way to Caplingers. I pass by there a million times and just never stopped. A coupon came in the mail and to be honest that is what prompted my visit. Upon pulling up, the parking lot is busy but I was able to find a spot right in front which is good. I went on a Friday around 3:30 and it was busy, seemed like people were coming out with to go orders. When I went inside, I had no idea there is actually seating inside. I don't know why I thought it was just to go orders. When you walk in there is a cabinet of fresh fish that you can buy, or you can have it prepared for you. I ordered a Grouper Sandwich, and a side of fries. Fries do NOT come with the sandwich so just beware of that. You order and then they will bring the food to your table when it is ready should you decide to dine in. The food was really good, I mean really good. It tasted very fresh and not greasy like some fish places. It was clean inside and the staff were very nice. Now that I know I can go and get seafood and not just any seafood but good seafood I'll be back for sure. Oh and pricing is reasonable, the Grouper sandwich I think was about $16.

Great seafood wish location was more accessible! Nice variety of fish sandwiches, loved the smoked fish dip!

Order before you sit down and they bring it to you. Quiet inside as most people we noticed ordered to go. We ordered fried jumbo shrimp, clams fried cod with fried orca and mac n cheese. Overall pretty good...but Not our favorite. You should definitely check them out though...you never know until you try it!
