Café Con Leche - Wappingers Falls

We are from NJ and visit friends in WF several times a year. We first ate at this restaurant 2 years ago and made a last minute reservation. We arrived early and sat at the bar and had delicious drinks recommended by the very friendly bartended. My husband and I remember ordering the pernil dinner and sides and the food was delicious. So last night we went back and ordered the same. The drinks were very good. We started with the bacalaito appetizer and all 4 of us shared it. While it was tasty, it was also overly greasy. We couldn't finish it. They should have drained it on paper towels or pan fried it. All of us ordered the pernil dinner with sides of rice, beans and tostones. The sides were tasty and the portions were generous. The pernil was so over-salted that it was hard to eat. It was also shredded, which is not how I've ever had it served at a restaurant in the past. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

Great place for Puerto Rican cuisine. We sat at the bar because the place was very busy. We had excellent service and the food was delicious with generous servings. As we were leaving the owner came out of the kitchen to thank us! Wonderful place to celebrate your family/friends' gatherings. The portions are generous in the Latino tradition, and they accommodate your requests. At last a Puerto Rican restaurant with good food. We had a nice lunch. Left very happy. They played awesome Salsa music Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

An exquisite example of what puerto rican should be fine / leisure food. the food was excellent, drinks were amazing, and the service was top notch. would I recommend? strong. (make reservations, or they can't be as happy as I just walked in. they quickly filled up)! I'll come back without a doubt. many, many more paints. muy delicioso!
