Bidrage med feedbackCame in to this little place for coffee and lunch with a friend. The food was incredible! I had the fritters, my friend had the mushroom ragu. Gorgeous flavours and extensive menu that caters for everyone! I'm GF and was amazed at how much choice their was. The coffee was fantastic, really smooth and came out quickly. Our waitress, Jess was so helpful and bubbly, ands more than happy to answer our questions. The other girl, Elise who served us at the till was also a positive and friendly girl and it was nice to see such a great place have such a great team behind it! Will be back for sure!
Wonderful service on a busy morning. We didn't have a booking but were offered a table as long as we left by 8:55 which suited us. Terrific job with the updated decor and new owner. Efficient service and great menu. We loved our breakfast and our start to 2017 Mothers Day. Thank you
Recently renovated and taken over by new owners we visited the Packington St Cottage this month. Lovely inside, open space and hardwood finishes so it can get a bit noisy. Some of the larger tables are too squashed together which makes it a little challenging to get in and out of your seat if the tables are full. Would have appeared that we had a very very relaxed waiter who took his time with everything. Bought glasses but neglected to bring the bottle of water with it and bought it over when we asked for it. Again had to get his attention to place an order. No other waiters around assisting but the barista was behind the coffee machine. Coffee was okay though my latte was hot and made for picking up the glass challenging as no serviette was supplied. Breakfast was good and reasonably generous size. Toastie was $12, eggs Benedict with bacon $18, all tasted fine. Menu was fairly standard affair for breakfast with all the usual suspects. Looks like they had a nice selection of muffins and cakes in the cabinet. Lovely outdoor space but it was too cold for outdoor when we went. No need to rush to this cafe just yet. Hopefully they'll improve with time and improve the overall experience.
Fabulous vegetarian and gluten free choices, so hard to find!Spoilt for choice. Ended up having the broccoli salad and turmeric latte. Really delicious. Friendly staff and absolutely gorgeous garden to rest in after a busy day shopping. Will be back to sample more when I'm over from Tassie again
Having discovered this place when it was simply called The Cottage on a previous visit to Melbourne to visit our kids, we were pretty keen to get back there this time, and staying not far from Geelong it was a short drive to go there with our son and daughter in law and the splendid little grandson, for breakfast. I was as determined as any addict of eggs florentine to ignore the menu and blurt out my order because I had every confidence it would be as good as the last time we'd been there. The ownership had changed and so, albeit subtly, had the name. With something approaching dread I was forced to consult the menu, and upon discovering that I could have eggs benedict without the ham but with spinach and smoked salmon I naturally ignored everything else on the menu and with renewed hope I boldly enunciated my order. I wasn't disappointed. And the others' breakfasts looked very good and were consumed amid noises of appreciation. The most exquisite angle to this happy circumstance is the fact that we, from the remote coast of Western Australia, knew a place to go for breakfast and lunch and espresso coffee close to their home of which our hosts were unaware.
