Bidrage med feedbackWe called here for lunch on the off-channels, while we make a round robin walk from the Epsom runway. the young employees were welcome. eating was good and in a middle price letter, 4 pints, 2 weine, 3 net and a starter £85. the menu was quite refreshing and somewhat different. will we have gone?
Have been here before and remember it being better than this. The restaurant needs to sort out the fireplace in the centre of the room and not light it until it is resolved. The fire smoked so much, it stung our eyes, then the door would be opened to get rid of the smoke then we were sat in the cold and in a draft. We all left stinking of smoke. Food was ok, neither amazing nor terrible. Portion size of chips were poor, they barely covered the plate. Chips do not cost that much and give the feeling of being short changed when only given a dozen. The staff were friendly and dealt with a fight that broke out very well.
Decent food and excellent service but the open fires ruined the evening. From the moment we arrived there was a smokey atmosphere. Our clothes stank by the time we got home. Unpleasant experience and will not go there again in a rush. I feel very sorry for the staff who work there.
Very disappointed with our first visit to this venue. Waited 40 minutes to get served drinks to the table and only after having to speak to the staff. My food was good, salt and pepper fish and calves liver. Others in party had burgers which were soggy. We were charged for drinks which we ordered and never arrived. Asked for water twice and never arrived. We decided to cut our losses and leave without ordering dessert or coffee. What really summed it up for me was when we were leaving the staff were in the kitchen area on their phones. Other tables left as they had waited so long.Great looking venue but terrible service. Felt sorry for young girls working as they lacked leadership.
Really disappointed yesterday. The fire smoked out the whole place. Was hurting our eyes that much. Hugely understaffed (perhaps because of covid). But worst of all the king prawn on top of the prawn cocktail wasn’t cooked. It had been steamed which is normally lovely but unfortunately it was not steamed for long enough. Jelly like and nowhere near opaque. Cancelled the rest of the food, paid for our drinks and left. Waitress was very apologetic. Normally a really good place to eat. Will need to find somewhere else now I’m afraid.
