NOT IMPRESSED WITH FOOD. THEY CHARGE $1.00 FOR 1 BITE SIZE PIEROGI. THE MAN BEHIND THE COUNTER OBSERVES THE AMT OF FOOD PLACED THE DINNER CONTAINER. HE ALSO HAS A UNFRIENDLY ATTITUDE TO ME. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE STAFF THAT WORKS WITH HIM. NEVER WILL I RETURN TO THAT ESTABLISHMENT.
Nice place, I like it. First time in, person behind counter is very nice. Lovely place! Has a little of everything, food and items. Along with meals that my sibling got. Also, you can see on the display there is meat. I think.
I grew up near here and have been coming for years for their takeout specials and deli (an old and strong alliance between the neighboring Italian and Polish immigrant communities). Food is consistently fresh and delicious, and generous portions for the price I 'm so grateful places like this continue to thrive. I especially love the hot kapusta (great for a cold), red cabbage salad, pierogis. They also carry some great imported fruit drinks, like low sugar apple and cherry juice, and a thick banana coconut and chia seed drink. Always very friendly, charming and kind staff. TO ADD: I stopped in again this week and was excited to discover that they make fried apple fritters to order wonderful! It 's the first time I 've seen that in the US one thing I miss about Italy is how common it is to get fresh or made to order hot doughnuts (usually lemon flavored zeppole , cinnamon and sugared doughnuts or filled croissants), and it 's rare in Italian American bakeries. Simple batter fried with sliced apples, sprinkled with powdered sugar, not overly sweet. It just doesn 't get better than that.
Been in here a couple of times for lunch, the staples of polish cuisine made every day. The chicken cutlets are my faves, along with good pierogis and superb salads. You will also find kielbasa, cold cuts, salads, polish products, drinks and breads. A little of everything, lottery tixs sold here too. Parking lot on side of building.
