Bidrage med feedbackHuck Finn's was amazing. The atmosphere is very welcoming, quiet and enjoyable. My husband and i haven't had any luck finding a good fish fry. A family member recommended for us to try it here and by far, best fish fry in town! After living here for a year, this is the second best restaurant we have tried and will definitely be returning. I got the tenderloin steak rare it was juicy, seasoned and cooked to perfection. My husband got the ocean cod and it was also cooked to perfection. The tartar sauce a bit on the sweet side but it wasn't really needed since the batter was seasoned very well. I'm a huge old fashion girl and Huck Finn's nailed it with their whiskey old fashion! It really took me back to big city living vibe. The French Island Tea was also delicious! We can't wait for our next visit!
Best **** Mary's great breakfasts, walleye is great, the staff is the best! You can't beat cat gut,
Don 't waste your time here. We arrived about 2:30pm on a Thursday. Two tables occupied, 2 window tables not bussed. Should be a quick visit, right? Ha! Sat for about ten minutes and no one brought us water. Two wait staff were standing around, one gal was more worried about folding a t-shirt than the customers. We decided to leave. Told a gentleman on the way out. His response? Oh, I 'm sorry. Came down the road to Tom Sawyer 's. Friendly and fast service here. Walked in and noticed a guy who had also been at Hick Finn 's who also left because it took forever for him to be seated.
It was very nice to overlook the marina except the wasps were pretty pesky. The food was just ok. We were allowed to have our dog with us since it was outdoors. Wait staff was friendly but kind of disappeared once our food was served.
We had so much hope for this restaurant. The location and ambiance on the water was inviting. That's where it ended. Our waiter was clearly brand new and had no business waiting tables independently. He literally made up answers to questions about the food and it was evident he had no clue. The shrimp appetizer came out burnt and rubbery--clearly something frozen that got left in deep fryer too long. Chicken on the salad was clearly pre packed cold chunks that had zero flavor. The fish po' boy was just a giant strip of deep fried fish on a rather dry piece of bread. Blue cheese dressing was decent. The bar seemed to be working well. Drinks were never refreshed. And despite there being multiple servers standing around, the speed in service was exceptionally slow. And the most annoying part was that two more senior men who were either management or owners were sitting off in the back in their computers with their cell phones ringing off on high volume of some orchestra type music while they stepped away. It was incredible how awful the experience was. Btw... the menu needs a lot of help. I suspect that nothing is actually made fresh at this place.
