Bidrage med feedbackHad my baby shower here this past weekend and was very impressed with the space and set up! We did have two gluten free individuals and it took way too long to hunt down the person in charge so those two people could be served food. The brunch spread was nice and had a good variety. We had the space until 4pm but they started cleaning up around us starting at 3:15 so that was a little frustrating. The women's bathroom was out of order for a bit which was pretty inconvenient as no sign was provided. Overall it was nice and the party went well!
We were on vacation and decided to book one night here. We checked in pretty late like at 9pm. This looks like an older hotel so take that into consideration. There is plenty of parking. The decor is very 90's but cute. The room was okay it had everything we needed but you can tell it's older. The beds were comfortable. We had an okay experience.
I didn't want to stay in Boston nor near Boston Logan international airport due to the higher hotel room rates, so I decided to find something else in the northern suburbs of Boston. I found a quaint little hotel here in Wakefield overlooking Lake Quannapowitt. I found the Lakeside Inn on hotels.com a few months prior to arrival. The hotel was good and the photos on the website looked reasonably good, so I went ahead and booked it. Upon arrival in May 2022, I was supposed to have stayed for one night and was out of Boston the next morning. As things would turn out, the airline cancelled my itinerary due to weather and rebooked me on the next day. Now, my 1 day stay turned out to be 2 nights. I asked the lady at the front desk if they had availability the next night and they did! I also got to keep the same room as well. Room rates was about $119 a night, if I am not mistaken, which is pretty good for the area. My room was a nice, clean, but small unit with a king bed. The comfort of the room was nice, although since it was early summer, the humidity of the day tended to permeate into the room and it got warm, but backed off when evening approached. The lady at the front desk also recommended the North Ave Diner to me for meal options on the extra day of my stay. Thank goodness they do delivery too. I also requested ice and the lady at the front desk came back with a small plastic bag of ice. She claimed due to COVID-19, they limit people from accessing the ice machine. The overall experience here at the Lakeside Inn was nice, cozy, and felt like home. Although my situation with the cancelled itinerary couldn't be helped, the lady at the front desk was nice and friendly. The Lakeside Inn sits in the northern Boston suburbs, which makes the hotel appealing. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Boston, but close enough to let loose when you need to and be close to nature. The hotel itself is small, with less than 100 guest rooms, although the property itself seems larger than meets the eye. Lakeside Inn sits practically next to the Lake Quannapowitt, so the ease of access to the walking paths is quite nice for fresh air and spectacular views of the lake. While the Lakeside Tavern restaurant, the restaurant inside the hotel, was closed at the time of my stay, it would have been good to dine there instead of venturing outside and finding something on my own. The Lakeside Inn is a quaint hotel property. It's not fancy, but it's not bare bones either. It's comfortable, but basic at the same time. It's just comfortable rooms at an affordable price. And of course, away from the city of Boston when you want that quiet from the noisy city life. Consider this hotel property when making arrangements to your next trip to the Boston area. The Lakeside Inn is located at 595 North Avenue in Wakefield, MA. Like many hotel properties out there, they accept major credit cards, which is usually the case for hotel bookings and payments. The hotel building is rather nice and aesthetically appealing, but it looks to be a little dated and probably needs a new fresh coat of paint. I did enjoy the lobby. Pretty basic but chic at the same time. It was definitely clean and well managed by the hotel staff. The hotel has 2 floors of guest rooms but I got one the 1st floor. For the most part though, my stay here was good, pleasant, quiet, and happy that there was availability when my airline itinerary was cancelled and needed a place to crash without having to drive to another hotel property. It was a vacation in 2022 that will stay with me for a while. Thanks to the Lakeside Inn for making it the most pleasant ever, despite the circumstances. There's plenty of parking for guests who are staying here. As far as public transportation, best bet would be to take the express line from Boston's North End station to Wakefield. After that, it's either walking or taking an uber from the Wakefield station to get here to the hotel. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 3.0 stars for the pricing. 5.0 stars for the location. 4.0 stars for the room comfort. 5.0 stars for the service. Affordable price. Staff was excellent! Tamara is very friendly and helpful. It is in a beautiful little town. A ton of happenings. We came to visit Salem, but found Wakefield to be more our speed. Hotel is in a great location with a fantastic view. Definitely recommend, if you plan to visit Salem or Boston area, this place is a great option.
This Inn originally gave us a room where the bed wasn 't made. Absolutely unacceptable! They gave us another room that wasn 't bad. The bed was comfortable and the room looked clean. My major complaint is the excuse due to Covid . No mask being wore, hotel restaurant open for business, however no coffee due to Covid pool closed due to Covid It 's frustrating when the world is open for business however this is still your excuse. I must say I think they are working on improvements however they should work on better excuses as well.
