Bidrage med feedbackGood little hotel I was staying for work, and this place was ideal. On the doorstep of my work appointment, arrived to find a good spacious car park. Very friendly staff, room was small and basic but I was able to work for an hour or so on the desk and the bed was comfortable etc. £5 taxi fare to the centre of town, unfortunately no restaurant service that night but breakfast the following morning was really well done, nicely cooked and to order which I prefer to buffet. Will definitely stay again next time I go to Wakefield
It 's an okay hotel, cheap and cheerful and okay-ish value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. I would probably say it 's not ideal for guests staying over with young ones as the rooms are not sound proofed and unfortunately for me I could hear the noises from 'extra-curricular ' activities in the room next door (this is not the hotel 's fault btw just an observation). The beds are very comfy top marks on that one. Location is okay but could potentially be a bit noisy during the week as it 's in an indurustrial area with heavy goods vehicles moving around. Okay for a solo traveller for a night or two.
For the price, this hotel is a good value. It feels more like an American motel. The rooms were clean and the location is satisfactory. The only downsides were some noise on certain nights from vehicles and neighboring guests. Additionally, a full breakfast was a bit pricey. However, the staff were very helpful, even providing an umbrella on a rainy morning.
The rooms are quite old and not cleaned well. I woke up in the middle of the night to find water leaking from the ceiling, and all they did was offer me another room—without even offering to help me with my luggage. The service was lacking, the rooms were disappointing, and although the location is decent, it doesn't make up for the issues I experienced.
Additionally, it has a connecting door to the next room, which means noise travels easily—essentially making it feel like one large room. I've stayed at this hotel about four times a year, and while the staff is usually very accommodating, this time was different. They did offer me another room, but it was up at least two flights of stairs. Given that I’m 75 with a heart condition, expecting me to carry my dog up the stairs felt unreasonable. I was also surprised to find that the pet charge has increased to £15 per night, meaning I had to pay an extra £30 for my two-night stay—up from the previous charge of £5. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. Is this how you treat regular guests? If so, I will have to reconsider my future stays.
