Bidrage med feedbackIt is not a secret that it is difficult to find vegan food on the Japanese landscape. We were here for birthday dinner. You can have shortened business hours due to Covid, I recommend a reservation in advance. I loved everything about this place. Embedded in the mountains, it is peaceful and picturesque. The food was almost all locally grown and naturally made fresh. We had a lunch package with many small dishes such as rice, spring rolls, soup, pasta salad, croquettes and fried vegetables. We followed with a warm drink, in my case I tried the soy milk shark. The owner was friendly and speechful. The café itself is quite picturesque and a beautiful atmosphere. I would like to visit this café again!
The fireplace in the corner, the handmade wooden furniture of the friendly owners, the cute courtyard outside. When you arrive, you feel like being transported to another world. The vegetarian cuisine was very impressive at the distance of this area. Breakfast and dinner were both amazing, full of a variety of healthy vegetables. We went the kumano kodo and stayed the night in the guest house. The healthy food was very welcome after a long day hike driven by some frechen snacks. I would recommend staying in the boarding house because they kindly picked us up and dropped us off at hongu by car. Hiking the kumano kodo as a vegetarian becomes much easier with such options!!
Located in the beautiful mountain side of UNESCO World Heritage Kumano, Japan. The owner and his family lived in a city, but decided to move with their 5 children to Kumano, such a happy family style B
Finding vegan food in the Japanese countryside can be challenging, but we stumbled upon this gem for my birthday lunch. Due to Covid, they have adjusted their hours so it's best to make a reservation ahead of time. This place had a lot to offer and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tucked away in the mountains, the setting was calm and picturesque. The food was mostly sourced locally and freshly prepared. Our set lunch featured a variety of small dishes like rice, spring rolls, soup, pasta salad, croquettes, and fried vegetables. To end our meal, we had a warm beverage – I opted for the soymilk chai. The owner was friendly and engaging, adding to the charm of the quaint cafe and creating a delightful atmosphere. I would definitely return to this wonderful cafe in the future!
It's no secret that finding vegan options in Japan can be challenging. We recently went to this restaurant for a birthday dinner and were impressed. Despite shortened hours due to COVID, I recommend making a reservation in advance. The location, nestled in the mountains, is peaceful and beautiful. The food is all locally sourced and freshly made, with a lunch package featuring rice, sushi rolls, soup, pasta salad, croquettes, and roasted vegetables. I tried the soy milk shake for a warm drink, which was delicious. The owner was friendly and attentive, and the cafe itself has a charming and relaxing atmosphere. I can't wait to visit again!
