La Gannerie - Vouneuil Sous Biard

This was the third time we'd tried to get in the restaurant (they were on holiday twice) and we were glad we tried again. Tastefully decorated and nice, formal place settings on well space tables. Service was attentive, but not overly so. We chose the 19 euro three course fixed price menu (there were various others). A mixed fish salad starter was huge but lovely; my wife's chicken fricasse was pretty big too and delicious. We had merlu and pork for our entrees and they were excellent too both accompanied by tasty, home cooked veg. Tarte tatin and salad d'agrumes as dessert were good but, in truth, we were very full by this time. Good wine we had half bottle of Chardonnay for 11 euros. Excellent meal overall at competitive price, but do take your appetite with you!

The restaurant is quite difficult to find using the Satnav but the effort was worthwhile with well-cooked food in a nice atmosphere. They offer very good value fixed price menus, we had the 28Euros one, offering lobster salad that was very yummy as a starter. The wine list was good and we were offered a superb Chablis for 26 euros The service was excellent.

Friendly restaurant, from the entrance to the perfect dessert. An extraordinary work, knowing that bread, foie gras, ice... are made by the chef the passion of his kitchen in our dishes. Thank you.

For a surprise birthday with family and friends refined and delicious meals. Excellent service and beautiful presentation. Renew without hesitation.
